This FIGHT has nothing to do with the value of jobs and everything to do with the lives of innocent residents in North Buckhannon. We are irrelevant ???

What exactly does your video prove? The only thing that it proves is that you have nothing better to do than to watch people doing there jobs.
I have read the letters to the editor and one in particular stands out. The one that states that the best view of Buckhannon is from Rt.33 to 5th St. and how the silos would stick out like sore thumbs. Have you taken a good look at this? I have taken photos of this area and all I see is tall grass and homes with 5 vehicles up on blocks and a fenced in lot with carnival rides and a car lot with a few cars that never get sold because there no one is ever there. So, if this is the landscape you are worried about, the silos could only improve it.
By the way, are you the one that called EPA on Friday as well, I am very sure that you are. They did come and take a look and didnt do a thing. In fact they said that they are required to take a look but found nothing wrong. I took some photos of the lot that you say is a disaster and i don't see to much. Just a little sand on the ground (to be expected) and some rocks, and (OH MY GOSH) a water puddle. We will have to have a talk with the person that made that water puddle. It could be a risk to someone. Quick call the authorities.
My advice to the people that are listening to Peter, please do your own research before you judge.
I don’t see any evidence in your blog to support your statements. As far as Cooks store is concerned , it has nothing to do with the subject.
As far as the residents of North Buckhannon are concerned, we can’t just walk away from our homes like you can leave an establishment. You have a choice whether to stay. Our homes can’t be moved.
Do you care that your neighbors in North Buckhannon will lose their investments in their homes due to this operation moving into the neighborhood? Do you care that the elderly citizens in North Buckhannon are already on oxygen or that some children are struggling with health problems? Do you care that the neighborhood children ride their bikes, probably just like your neighborhood children, on the same streets these 40 ton trucks intend to make their access roads? Do you care that they fill pushed out of a neighborhood that they have been in for a century?
Do you care anything about people or is it all about money? I can tell by your comments it’s about money. What has happened to society? Are we really that inconsiderate, that uncompassionate?
While I agree with you in principal, your sensationalist approach will fail you. Some suggestions:
1) Spell check. People won't take you seriously with errors.
2) Instead of focusing on the children and elderly. Stick with facts and leverage the laws on the books. Start by looking at zoning. Is the area zoned industrial? Why did people buy homes in an area zoned industrial? Can it be rezoned? What constitutes industrial? Does this meet that criteria?
3) Are there any actual studies done about other areas that have these silos? I don't mean talking to residents, I mean actual studies by credible institutes on the health impacts you are referring to.
4) Stop posting videos of other things Weatherford does, particularly if it is not of the exact thing you are referring to. Entirely possible that the operations done at the silo will be completely different than what you are portraying.
5) Stay focused on what you are dealing with, not what COULD happen. That in the future they COULD have more hazardous materials there means nothing. They are not asking to do that now, cross that bridge when/if it gets to you.
6) Instead of just bitching, offer solutions. Where could they put them that in your view would be acceptable?
Mark,
"People won't take you seriously with errors."
Good advice. You should follow it. For instance, make sure you don't use sentence fragments. See the first sentence of your point #2, and the second sentence of your point #4.
Oh, and I think you mean "principle" instead of "principal."
If you're going to call someone on the carpet in such a snarky way, make sure you know what you're talking about. Otherwise, you just look silly and it adds nothing to the debate.
Let's make a point right here and now...where were you when CJ Martin was building the fuel stop...or should I say, still building? Leveling a mountain over the past 7 years or so, RIGHT IN THE SAME AREA in North Buckhannon! Where were you then? There's been plenty of so-called 'dust' in the air. Where were you when Wal-Mart and Lowes were built? Where were you when Mike Ross started drilling a well RIGHT BESIDE Rt. 33?? I believe the folks of Upshur County should hear an unbiased truth about this entire project...are you and your cohorts seriously concered with the well-being of those in Upshur County and North Buckhannon, or are ya'll just angry that Weatherford didn't purchase your land for those Silos?
I don't live in Buckhannon anymore, so this situation doesn't really matter to me one way or another, but I would like honest, well-researched answers to why these silos are so bad...they're gong to be filled with sand...to fraq wells with...to keep America moving with energy, rather than depending on the middle east...with SAND...
I'm just sayin', I'd like some answers.

WOW. It appears that Peter must have stepped on some guilty toes! Keep it up Peter, you are doing a great job! Such agressive defense sounds like an intellectual idiot with a conflict of interest. It is the principals in the history of Buckhannon that are being avaded by such a disrespectful individual.
A view from an open mind can see much more than a view from a closed mind. Let's not be dillusional to believe that there are not unpleasent lots in every community that the city gov't should address with compassion. The car lot is not one of them. And, unless you are blind, you can see a homestead on nearly every lot, with two churches, one park, and two schools available to every citizen in Upshur County and every visitor.
As far as the development site in question is concerned, I could not see the "water puddle" because of the tall grass. However, I did see the swamp areas on the surrounding properties due to elevating the site property in question. AND, it was reported to the proper athorities in which they have, to this day, chose to ignor.("OH MY GOSH") Please, do more research before you investigate!
